 Mike Burgess Supports Raising YOUR TaxesCloverleaf has the story: Michael Burgess held a press conference to announce that he failed at getting enough money to expand I-35. And since he and his Republican buddies are not man enough to admit when they don't have enough revenue to do their jobs... And since the credit cards are pretty much maxed out...
HE SUPPORTS PUTTING A TOLL ON I-35. Nice. So guess what, fellow taxpayers: you get to pay your taxes once to pay for I-35, then again and again, and again and again on your way to work. And you not only pay for the road, but you pay for toll collection, and you suffer more congestion, and you pay for corporate profits, and you sell off YOUR Texas highway. All so the GOP can continue to claim that they're "cutting taxes". This is very short-sighted thinking that just typifies "something-for-nothing" Republicanism, and their unyielding faith in benevolent corporations to always provide that one more payday loan, that one more glass of ripple, and that one last cigarette, as they try to hold on. Make no mistake folks, for all of the Republican bullshit about keeping taxes low, you had better keep your hand over your wallet, because this is yet another example of their fiscal malfeasance removing money from your wallet. I don't know about the rest of you people, but I'm not going to worry a lot about my taxes. I'm paying attention to the bottom line, and it's not been good since Michael Burgess has been in office. |
