Congratulations to Mayor-elect Dean Ueckert, who will be sworn in Monday after next. John Gorena and T.J. Gilmore will face each other in a June 13th runoff election for the Place 4 City Council seat.

What did our WhosPlayin polls say?
In the mayor's race, with 38 total votes, Dean Ueckert got 76.3%, and Edmondson got 21.1%.
In the Council Place 4 race, with 34 total votes, TJ Gilmore gained the plurality with 41.9%, followed by Margie Rochelle at 32.3%, then John Gorena at 19.4%.

At 5pm, I guessed that Gorena would get at least 38%, and that Edmondson gets less than that - based on Gorena's previous run last year, and that Edmondson supporters tend to be Gorena supporters, but not vice-versa.

Lewisville ISD Results
(via The Lewisville Leader)

Board of Trustees
Place 1
Tom Ferguson: 3,535 (Winner)
Stephen Dubner: 2,305
Kevin Gies: 1,404

Place 2
Vernell Gregg 2,916 (Winner)
Christine Boudreau 2,595
Kevin Davis: 1,958 (644 more votes than Mayor of Lewisville!)

Since neither winner had more than 50% of the votes, we presume that LISD seats are won with a plurality. I'll have to look into that. It surprises me a little.

Re: Lewisville Election Results - May 9th, 2009 - Mayoral...
We've posted a new POLL so you people can tell us how you plan to vote in the runoff election.

My amateur prediction for the Runoff:
Margie Rochelle and Mayor Dean Ueckert will likely throw their support behind T.J. Gilmore. Gorena's core support will stay strong, but the portion he gained due to Winston Edmondson is unlikely to be sustained. I'd guess 43% Gorena to 57% Gilmore. (+/- 3 points either way)

Turnout will not be as high. I'm thinking maybe half, but I'll ask around and see what other folks think.
