Deep Dish - A look at a town crisscrossed with pipelines

Oil and Gas
Posted by WhosPlayin on 2009/2/21 10:00:00 (2007 reads)

This past Sunday, I drove out to the tiny town of Dish, TX (in Western Denton County) at the invitation of Dish Mayor, Calvin Tillman. Tillman showed me around the city, and explained some of the issues that his town has had to deal with.

Part I: Pipeline easements, Crime, Metering Stations, Smells, Dangers

Part II: A Compressor station, and discussion of community impacts and land use.

Part III: Up close with loud compressors, water pollution, eyesores.

If you live in the Barnett shale like I do, it would behoove you to make sure that your neighbors and your elected officials see what has happened in Dish. Those who don't pay attention to the history are doomed to repeat it.
