Three things have happened today that make me think I need to clarify where I stand on the proposed Barnett Shale gas wells here in Lewisville. The first thing was that this article came out for Wednesday's Lewisville Leader in which I was quoted saying that Cherokee Horn was making a "low-ball offer". I said that, and I stand behind that, based on what I know about the Barnett Shale at this point.... |

So, here I am in Scottsdale, AZ in a hotel, getting ready to turn in for the night, but I thought first I'd share some thoughts on the Michelle Obama speech at the Democratic National Convention. As I watched tonight, first the video about Michelle, then her brother's introduction, then her speech, I must say that I was just very moved. Mamask8z and I texted each other at various points tonight, in enthusiasm for the message and the narrative that was presented.... |

I'M SO PISSED! 27% of Hillary supporters voting for McCain Remember this spring? There were primaries and caucuses in which Hillary received an estimated 18 million votes. Hillary did not get the required number of votes to clinch the nomination; whereas, Barack Obama did. Therefore Barack Obama is the presumptive Democratic nominee for U.S. President. We all know this story... Yada, yada, yada, so forth, let's get on with it. Moving on. ... |

We had fewer folks than we had for Thursday's meeting. I'd say almost 100 showed up, though some left early when a small thunderstorm threatened to let loose on us. I learned a few things, and I look forward to talking to more of my neighbors, and researching a bit more on some of the environmental issues, nuisances, and hazards.... |
